The Cocktails We're Mixing This Thanksgiving

Hi Reader,

Let’s talk about the drinks. Because while everyone’s focused on perfecting their turkey and sides, the right cocktail can set the tone for the whole celebration.

We’ve spent years testing fall cocktails, and these five are the ones that actually make it into our regular rotation. They’re balanced, not too sweet, and work whether you’re making one drink or batching for a crowd.

For The Pear Lovers

Our Ciderhouse Pear Cocktail is basically autumn in a glass. The secret? Reducing pear cider down to a syrup over a few hours gives you the most intense pear flavor. It’s become our signature drink when we want something that tastes seasonal without being overly spiced.

When You Need A Crowd-Pleaser

This Pomegranate Ginger Apple Cider Punch is low-effort but high-payoff. Not too sweet, not too boozy, just right for keeping a pitcher ready while you’re cooking. Perfect for the guest who shows up early wanting to help in the kitchen.

Our Signature Sour

We took the classic whiskey sour and made it better with this Spiced Cranberry version. The cinnamon-and-clove-spiced cranberry syrup smells so good we wish it came as a candle. This one’s for folks who like their cocktails balanced and sophisticated.

If You’re Making Drinks To Order

Got a smaller gathering? Try our Sage Bee’s Knees, inspired by the wild sage that grows all over California. It’s a twist on the classic gin cocktail with herbal notes that feel more grown-up than your typical honey drink.

And for something simple enough that guests can make their own? The Persimmon Old Fashioned with smashed persimmons and warm spices. As comfy as an Old Fashioned gets.

You can find all these plus our complete Thanksgiving lineup — appetizers, mains, sides, and desserts — in our full roundup.

So grab your shaker (or pitcher) and get mixing. Your guests will thank you.

Cheers! Aida, Kristen, and Team Salt & Wind Travel
